Welcome to the Keyword Hub! Below you will find all known current mechanics revealed by Sky Mavis. This is an ever evolving guide and will only reach its final form when Origin is released! Do check back periodically as we will continue updating with findings from across the community! Abuโ€™s Notes: Heal cards are great for tanks, supports and bruiser style Axies to increase their survivability and staying power on field.

How it works: Increases Rage bar of targeted Axie.

Rage effect: +2 damage per rage stack. Enter Fury form at 10 rage stacks

Abuโ€™s Notes: Rage is a stackable effect that passively increases damage and contributes to entering Fury Form. Rage is inherently very strong as each stack can increase damage, when paired with multi hit, this can cause a pretty devastating combo. Possible Combos: Rage Rush (Little Branch + Summons), Multi Hit + Rage (Bonus Damage)

How it works: Draw a card.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Nothing fancy here, draw is always great on a card as it replaces itself. Cycling through your deck faster also allows a greater range of options in game.

How it works: Apply Fear to targeted Axie. Fear effect: Whenever this unit uses an attack card. Shuffle a Confused into its draw pile. Confused Effect: Unplayable. Ethereal

Abuโ€™s Notes: Fear is a mechanic that punishes your opponents late game by sneaking in unplayable filler cards into their deck. The cards themselves are banished and do not stay in the deck, but drawing multiples is going to significantly hamper their game plan.

How it works: Apply Weak to targeted Axie. Weak effect: Target deals 20% less attack damage

Abuโ€™s Notes: Weak works the same way as ATK Down does in V2, it applies a debuff that lowers your opponents damage output for a few turns. Great for slowing down their DPS or to combo Peacemaker

How it works: Apply Stun to targeted Axie.

Stun effect: Target canโ€™t use any abilities

Abuโ€™s Notes: Straightforward stun ability! This effectively stops an opponents axie from doing anything for the duration. It could be a very strong ability if you are able to stun them just as their cards are drawn.

How it works: Remove debuffs on target.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Good old fashioned cleanse! It should still work the same way it did in V2, just now that it can target any ally. With all the debuff cards running around probably will be an important mechanic to keep in mind!

๐Ÿฉธ Bleed

How it works: Apply bleed to targeted Axie.

How Bleed works: Target loses 15 HP for each card played.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Bleed is designed to punish aggressive opponents, getting it to stick on an axie with many 0 costs, or who is gearing up for a combo will cause a lot of bleeds to go off!

How it works: Apply Poison to targeted Axie. Current Poison Effect: Target loses 3 HP per Stack at the beginning of its turn. Stacks are reduced by 1 each turn. Poison caps at 30 stacks

Abuโ€™s Notes: Poison looks to be very strong, being able to whittle down an opponents health over time is going to be a very powerful effect if the games goes long, the chip damage may also be useful in helping to clear summons like Mavis and Robin which only have 18 HP Return to Top

๐Ÿฑโ€๐Ÿ‘ค Stealth

How it works: Apply Stealth to targeted Axie. Current Stealth effect: Target cannot be targeted directly. If it uses a card remove Stealth

Abuโ€™s Notes: Stealth looks to be a defensive mechanic that stops you from getting targeted, it may be good for Axieโ€™s you want to protect in the early game from Backdoor or other targeted debuffs like Death Mark. It may also be a great combo starter for certain builds

๐Ÿ’” Vulnerable

How it works: Apply Vulnerable to targeted Axie. Current vulnerable effect: Target receives 20% more attack damage.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Vulnerable works the same way Defense Down works in V2, it is great for helping punch through shields and targets, maximizing this with a high value damage card like Koi or Little Branch will give you the best value.

๐Ÿฉน Fragile

How it works: Apply Fragile to targeted Axie. Current fragile effect: This unit gains 20% less shield from abilities

Abuโ€™s Notes: Fragile is an interesting ability as it affects your opponents future shield values with its application. It has the potential to lower shield breaking requirements for future turns.

How it works: Apply Disarmed to targeted Axie. Current Disarmed effect: Target cannot use Attack abilities

Abuโ€™s Notes: Disarm removes the Axieโ€™s ability to use Attack cards, making it great to shut down an opponents damage dealer. Other cards like Skill and Power can still be used however!

How it works: Dispel buffs on targeted Axie.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Dispel is speculated to work similar to Cleanse but for opponents buffs. Great for clearing Taunts or other pesky bonuses they may have!

How it works: Apply Death Mark to targeted unit. Current Death Mark Effect: Whenever your opponent plays an attack card, the target takes 13 DMG per energy spent.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Death Mark is a very strong card that will punish your opponent for every Attack card played across all units in their team. It forces a more passive or muted turn if they wish to avoid the effect. Very effective versus Aggro decks that are mainly attack cards

How it works: Apply Hex to targeted unit. Current Hex Effect: Whenever the target uses a non-Attack card, shuffle a Confused into its draw pile. Confused Effect: Unplayable. Ethereal

Abuโ€™s Notes: Hex is a mechanic that punishes your opponents late game by sneaking in unplayable filler cards into their deck. The cards themselves are banished and do not stay in the deck, but drawing multiples is going to significantly hamper their game plan. This version can be used to punish slower decks that have lots of Skill Cards

How it works: Apply Doubt to targeted unit. Current Doubt Effect: Target gains 20% less HP from Healing

Abuโ€™s Notes: Doubt functions as the Anti-Heal mechanic in Origin, it may be useful if you are facing many heal comps.

How it works: Attacks damage opponents in multiple instances. Either same target or at random depending on card description

Abuโ€™s Notes: Multi-Hit may be useful to proc an opponents secret or reflect attack for a lower value (Indian Star) It may also be useful if there are charms that allow debuffs to be applied from a cardโ€™s ability or with Rage, which applies a damage boost to all card instances

๐ŸŒ  Daze

How it works: Shuffles a Daze card into your opponentโ€™s discard pile.

Current Daze Effect: Unplayable

Abuโ€™s Notes: Daze is a Curse Card, it manipulates your opponents deck by inserting a card with a detrimental effect that will hinder their card draw. Daze in particular is annoying as it does not Banish, you will be stuck drawing this card throughout your game.

How it works: Shuffles a Jinx card into your opponentโ€™s discard pile. Current Jinx Effect: Unplayable. Ethereal. At the end of your turn your furthest axie takes 15 damage

Abuโ€™s Notes: Jinx is a Curse Card, it manipulates your opponents deck by inserting a card with a detrimental effect that will hinder their card draw. Jinx in particular does damage to your opponents furthest axie. Note that Ethereal means that it will disappear at the end of turn automatically

๐Ÿ“ง Blackmail

How it works: Shuffles a Blackmail card into your opponentโ€™s discard pile.

Current Blackmail Effect: Apply taunt to your furthest axie for 2 turns. If this is not used, put it onto the top of your draw pile. Banish

Abuโ€™s Notes: Blackmail is a Curse Card, it manipulates your opponents deck by inserting a card with a detrimental effect that will hinder their card draw. Blackmail is nasty as it exposes your backline to Taunt unless you decide to keep redrawing it.

๐Ÿ’ค Sleep

How it works: Applies Sleep to targeted unit. Current Sleep effect: Target cannot use abilities. if its attacked, remove sleep.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Sleep works similar to Stun, where you are not able to use any abilities till the effect wears off. Cards like Cuckoo are great for handling this debuff.

How it works: Shuffles a Void card into your opponentโ€™s discard pile.

Current Void Effect: Unplayable. Ethereal. When you draw 1 or more Void Lose 1 energy.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Void is a Curse Card, it manipulates your opponents deck by inserting a card with a detrimental effect that will hinder their card draw. Void is a very nasty card that blows up an energy if you draw it on your turn. Do note that drawing more than one Void will still only destroy 1 energy.

How it works: Retains a card between turns. It does not get discarded at the end of your turn

Abuโ€™s Notes: Retain is a special type of effect that allows you to keep a card between turns. Some cards get bonuses or special effects if cards are retained. These are great as they allow you to hoard certain cards for opportune moments or combos - cards like Strawberry Shortcake are good ones to consider

How it works: Applies Damage Boost to targeted Axie.

Damage Boost Effect: Target has Attack Damage increased by 1 per stack

Abuโ€™s Notes: Damage Boost applies bonus attack to each attack by your axie it affects all attack cards. It is a great card on aggressive Axies

How it works: Applies Taunt to targeted Axie

Taunt Effect: Target is always affected by enemy Attack Abilities

Abuโ€™s Notes: Taunt is very likely going to applies a buff onto your Axie that makes all attack abilities target the buffed unit. It only affects Attack Cards however, so skills and AoE cards will still affect other units. Pairs well with heals and on tanks.

๐Ÿ•Š Feather

How it works: Gain Feather whenever playing this card. Feather Effect: When Axie does a non-multihit attack, consume all Feather stacks to deal 3 bonus DMG per stack and heal 1 HP per stack. Max : 10 stack.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Feather is a separate buff that builds up on your Axie that has special effects with certain cards. Feather in particular is able to add bonus damage and a small heal to your next non-multihit attack. Stacking multiple feather instances can help you save up a big attack to deal good damage

๐ŸŒถ Burn

How it works: Shuffles a Burn card into your opponentโ€™s discard pile.

Current Burn Effect: Unplayable. Ethereal. At the end of your turn all allies take 8 damage.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Burn is a Curse Card, it manipulates your opponents deck by inserting a card with a detrimental effect that will hinder their card draw. Burn is an AoE card that automatically trigger at the end of your opponents turn. it hits the whole field for 8 damage, making it great for clearing summons and their board. Try stacking multiple for added fun.

How it works: Steal the HP of an opponent. Deals pure damage and gain HP

Abuโ€™s Notes: Steal is a unique mechanic that takes the opponents resources and add them to your board. The risk reward here is good as it allows you to be able to steal energy at best but also HP if you are missing that

๐Ÿพ Cleanser

How it works: Gain Cleanser whenever playing this card. Cleanser Effect: Each stack negates 1 debuff applied to the target

Abuโ€™s Notes: Cleanser is an additional card that is generated whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates your deck by giving you a card with a a small bonus effect. Debuffs are a big part of the board state so having this card will be a good way to manage your board!

๐Ÿ„ Mushroom

How it works: Summon a Mushroom on the battlefield. Mushroom effect: Summon a 18 HP Mushroom. When your turn ends, this mushroom restores 24 HP to your most injured ally and loses 8 HP.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Mushroom is a summoned unit that is created whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates the battlefield by adding an additional unit, complete with its own health bar and bonuses. Mushroom is a great unit that can help top up your units HP throughout the battle!

๐Ÿฅ› Pure Water

How it works: Gain Pure water whenever playing this card. Pure Water Effect: 0 cost | Target any ally heal 6 HP. Banish.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Pure Water is an additional card that is generated whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates your deck by giving you a card with a a small bonus effect. Current speculation is that this will clear debuffs or heal for a small amount for units on your team. Pure water heals for a small amount of HP - it can be used for summons!

Abuโ€™s Notes: Lumber Shield is an additional card that is generated whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates your deck by giving you a card with a a small bonus effect.

How it works: Shuffles a Goo card into your opponentโ€™s discard pile.

Current Goo Effect: 1 Energy. Banish.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Goo is a Curse Card, it manipulates your opponents deck by inserting a card with a detrimental effect that will hinder their card draw. Goo is an annoying curse that sticks in your deck until your opponent decides to use an energy to fix it

How it works: Scry x number of cards off the top of your deck. You may choose to discard any number of them.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Scry is a great mechanic that allows you to filter your upcoming card draw. It can do well in deck and has the bonus of being able to clear curses

๐Ÿ˜ˆ Fury

How it works: When you reach 10 Rage transform your Axie and gain 1 energy. Fury causes all your attacks to deal 75% more DMG

Abuโ€™s Notes: Fury is a very strong mechanic that has the potential to do a lot of burst damage in one turn. Getting it off may be difficult since it means getting to 10 Rage.

๐Ÿ“ Strawberry

How it works: Gain Strawberry whenever playing this card. Strawberry Effect: 0 Cost. Retain. Target any ally. Banish. 60 heal.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Strawberry is an additional card that is generated whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates your deck by giving you a card with a a small bonus effect. Strawberry is a great 0 cost card that heals 60 HP per card and you get 2 of these.

๐Ÿ™ Meditate

How it works: If played as the first card on your turn, this Axie Meditates.

How Meditate works: Meditate for 2 turns, If attacked while Meditating, Awake and gain 3 Rage. If not, Cleanse 1 Debuff and gain 1 Energy after the effect ends.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Meditate goes into a midrange Axie that has the ability to brawl and take advantage of Rage or Healing from the other effect.

๐Ÿ‚ Leaf

How it works: Gain Leaf whenever playing this card. Leaf Effect: Regen 4 HP at the end of your turn. Max Stacks: 5

Abuโ€™s Notes: Leaf is a separate buff that builds up on your Axie that has special effects with certain cards. Leaf in particular regens and gives a small heal. Stacking multiple Leaf instances can give you good regeneration and stacks well with cards like Leafy to do bonus damage. Clover is able to supply you with leaves to throw out as well.

How it works: Target Axie gains Bubble whenever playing this card.

Bubble Effect: Block Block 4DMG per stack against non-multihit attacks. Block 2 DMG per stack against multihit attacks. Max: 3 stacks. Turn into {Bubble Bomb} upon reaching 3 stacks. Bubble Bomb Effect: The next attack Explodes Bubble Bomb and deals 20 DMG to all enemies

Abuโ€™s Notes: Bubble is a separate buff that builds up on your Axie that has special effects with certain cards. Bubble in particular regens and gives a small damage negation effect. Stacking 3 Bubble instances turns it into Bubble Bomb, which turns your buff into an AoE DMG ability. Bubble teams have the potential to be very Tanky and with sustains and negation effects

๐ŸŒฒ Trunk

How it works: Summon a Trunk on the battlefield. Trunk effect: Summon a 75 HP Trunk. This unit has Taunt

Abuโ€™s Notes: Trunk is a summoned unit that is created whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates the battlefield by adding an additional unit, complete with its own health bar and bonuses. The Trunk unit itself is quite useful as it has its own HP pool and taunt, that will focus attacks onto itself as a target. Pairs well with cards that can heal as you can play Hollow, and heal up immediately after.

๐Ÿ€ Clover

How it works: Summon a Clover on the battlefield. Clover effect: Summon a 35 HP Plant Unit. When your turn starts, randomly grant 1-2 leafs to your Axies. Clover disappears after 4 leafs are granted.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Clover is a summoned unit that is created whenever the effect is activated, it manipulates the battlefield by adding an additional unit, complete with its own health bar and bonuses. Being able to create Leafs for Regen and for Leafy stack will be great way

๐Ÿฅ Healing Boost

How it works: Increase healing card effects to this Unit by 1 HP per stack.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Healing Boost increases the ability of all healing to the target axies. In a heal centric deck, this can add up very quickly - making it very hard for your opponents to deal good damage to your Axies.

๐Ÿฆ… Mavis

How it works: Summons a Mavis onto the Battlefield How Mavis works: Summons a 18 HP Bird Unit. When your turn starts (after Draw Step) Mavis reduces 1 energy of a random attack card. Lose 8 HP when your turn ends

Abuโ€™s Notes: Mavis is a deceptively powerful summon that has the ability to give you a โ€œfreeโ€ or โ€œdiscountedโ€ attack every turn. It is very powerful and can really speed up aggressive decks who are now able to blow through attack cards with a Mavis on the field

๐Ÿค Robin

How it works: Summons a Little Robin onto the Battlefield How Little Robin works: Summons a 18 HP Bird Unit. All Teammates deal 16 more DMG. Lose 8 HP when your turn ends.

Abuโ€™s Notes: Little Robin is a powerful aggressive summon that gives a blanket 16 DMG increase to all attacks. This is a very strong buff that can be amplified by multi hit, rage and other effects.
